Born and raised on a farm in the UK, George G William studied Graphic Design at DeMontfort University in Leicester, where he held his first live caricature event in 1991—an experience that helped shape his future career. After graduating, in 1994 he worked as both a nightclub bouncer and graphic designer at a music venue, promoting events and occasionally performing live caricatures. By 1999, he became a full-time artist, and soon after began contributing weekly vector caricatures to TV Times magazine until 2003. He later produced satirical illustrations for First Post, Financial News, and in 2017, completed his first full-page caricature for GQ.
From 2005, he appeared on several UK television shows, including the Paul O’Grady Show, Blue Peter, and Peston, where he drew public figures live—among them UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. His celebrity clients have included Amanda Holden and Brad Pitt, for whom he created a caricature for the actor’s 50th birthday in 2013.
His live caricature work gained traction internationally. In 2012, he was asked to lead a team following the Olympic torch through 66 UK towns, drawing digitally on Samsung Galaxy Notes. He also performed at F1 events in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi from 2010 to 2012, honing his digital skills.
Starting in 2007, he worked extensively across Europe—drawing in cities like Barcelona, Berlin, Paris, Zurich, and throughout the UAE. In 2018, he was a guest speaker at Mini-Con in Eindhoven and returned the following year for the Montmartre street caricature festival.
In 2022, after going viral on Instagram (@spotongeorge) and reaching over 160,000 followers, he was invited as a guest artist to festivals in Vienna, Izmir, and Buzău, Romania—where he met his wife, Daniela, also a caricaturist.
